　A mathematician’s view of a painting by Carlo Crivelli 1486: Annunciation with St. Emidius

概要

　In this talk we will see that the development of mathematics is embedded in a broad cultural context.We will cncentrate on a development in geometry, the birth of projective geometry, initiated by Italian painters in the 15th century. The painting by Crivelli will serve us as a guideline.
